A controlled trial of vitamin-mineral supplementation: Effects of intelligence and performance (study in children).
A triple-blind placebo-controlled design capable of determining whether supplements could produce significant gains in standardized validated indices of intelligence/performance. Results showed highly significant improvements in I.Q with the 100% RDA group showing an (average) 3.7 point IQ increase, and one-third of the cohort showing a 10 point IQ jump. The 200% RDA group showed lower improvements, similar to the 50% RDA group.
